How to create a step counting system

Post  Notune on Sat Nov 17, 2007 2:39 am

Within either Rm2k/3, you can create a step counting system. It records the amount of key presses with the Arrow keys, though it does not work when using the menu's, talking, and so forth. This article was recently submitted on RPG Maker Network.

Step 1:
Create a new common event, name it "Step Counter".

Step 2:
Place a input key processing: use the up, down, left and right keys. Save it to a variable named "keypressed-steps".

Step 3:
Create a conditional branch, and make it variable keypressed-steps greater or equal to 1, without a else handler.

Step 4:
Create a variable operation, and add 1 to the variable steps.

Step 5:
Create something that shows the steps, like a custom menu system.

That is all to the article. I hope this article helps you with your RPG Maker 2003 games, or give you the help you need to create a step counting system. Until the next article!
